Susie Switzer Design's
I’ve been making jewelry since 1999. Ever since I can remember I’ve had my hands creating a variety of art. It began with my first set of pastels at age four that I scribbled the
Alaskan
Range . My medium has varied over the years and I’ve experimented with painting, drawing, sculpture and photography. I’ve always drawn a lot of my inspiration from nature, whether it is the curling of a leaf or snow falling off the birch branches.
I enjoy working with silver and copper because of the range of the metals and the capabilities within the techniques of patina, forging, enameling, and castings. I have recently begun working using a variety of textures on metal, including the American Braille Alphabet. It allows me to combine a visual design with thoughts and expressions that can be read by touch.
